Denon AVR-2809CI

$1,199.00 Released July, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:HDMI switching is quick and hassle-free. Controls are simple and easy to work out, very little learning curve. Plenty of power for most typical home theater listening.

The Cons:Upscaling is a little rough, doesn't make SD signals look very good - can be switched off. Manual is hard to understand unless you're very experienced in AV equipment. Bass tends to automatically be set a little ht.

A notable upgrade to the previous-generation is the addition of Audyssey's Dynamic Volume processing along with the already present Dynamic EQ option. Dynamic Volume is found on all ten models; it's a feature that levels the volume to a more-or-less constant level to avoid sudden changes in volume. This feature works together with the Dynamic EQ that dynamically adjusts the EQ settings to optimize the dynamic range. The Denon AVR-2809CI has a suggested retail price of $1199 and is expected to retail in July 2008 along with all other 2008/09 models.
