The Pros:Good value for the price, more features than you would normally get at this price range. Sound quality is clear and detailed, no noticeable distortions. Good email support from Marantz, very prompt and well-researched responses.
The Cons:Lacks any HDMI support, either input or output. Setup is confusing even for more experienced users.
The SR3001 is the base-line AV receiver offered by Marantz. With a fully used 60 watts per channel, it has plenty of power behind its aluminum casing. A 32-bit Cirrus Logic processor enables Dolby Digital EX and Pro Logic IIx surroud, as well as dts ES (discrete and matrix), Neo:6, 96/24 and even SRS's Circle Surround.

With 7 analog stereo inputs, full 7.1 channel input and three assignable digital inputs (1 optical, 2 coaxial), it will be able to handle almost any audio sourse you throw at it. As for video, there are two components, two S-video and four composite inputs and there is a component, S-video and composit output, making this a truly flexible audio and video receiver. The Marantz Easy Setup menu and front panel cursor keys allow you to scroll through all your options with ease. Other features include a remote control and 50 preset AM/FM tuner.
