Onkyo TX-NR1009

 Onkyo's TX-NR1009 is an upper-mid-range home theatre receiver and is the top-of-the-line model in the TX-NR series. It is the first commercially available receiver to feature DTS' Neo:X 3D sound processing, and can output to 9.2 channels.

This receiver has a vibration-reducing solid base with separate power and preamp blocks and symmetrical left/right channel. Its sound processing uses multiple standards, such as THX, Audyssey, and Dolby PLIIz, with DOLBY and DTS HD decoders. There are numerous I/O ports, including ethernet, 8 HDMI, Composite, PC, component, S-Video, digital audio in and out, and front-panel A/V, optical, and USB that can be used with an iPod or iPhone. The TX-NR1009 uses an HQV Vida VHD1900 video processor and can convert analog to HDMI and upscale component video. This receiver is compatible with Internet and satellite radio, streaming from PCs, USB memory, or even wirelessly via a USB transmitter. Convenience features include a backlit remote, on-screen remote programming, colour-coded speaker terminals, and an automatic speaker calibration function (though this requires a mic).
