The Onkyo TX-NR5007 is the third of three network- and internet-radio-ready, 9.2-channel THX Ultra2 Plus certified A/V receivers released in September 2009. It is in fact the strongest in the series, as it incorporates 145W per every channel; and even includes up to 8 HDMI 1.3a inputs.

Added to that its HQV Reon-VX chipset, and the unit can upconvert video content from any source to 1080p/24. As for its audio, the Onkyo TX-NR5007 relies on customized transistors and audiophile-grade components to handle a large power supply; 32-bit Burr-Brown DACs, TI Aureus DSP Chips, and VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) to ensure optimal performance; and Audysey DSX and Dolby ProLogic Iiz for running a 9-channel soundstage. Configuration is perhaps the most complicated aspect, as the unit can be setup as a full 9.2-channel theater system; setup to power two independent stereo zones in addition to a 5-channel theater set-up; and setup with two channels powering a second pair of main speakers for dedicated listening.
Additional Information
All three models offer advanced networking capabilities, including PC streaming for Pandora, Rhapsody, vTuner, and Sirus Internet Radio services. Each is also Windows 7 compatible and hosts a DLNA 1.5 certification, allowing compatibility with other network-enabled equipment.
