Product Shot 2 This receiver features 4 x HDMI 1.3a inputs, high-definition audio decoding of DTS HD-MA and Dolby TrueHD, and video upscaling to 1080p, using it's built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX chipset. It features 140 Watts / channel of power in 8 Ohms at 0.05% THD. Notably, the TX-SR876 adds Audyssey's Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume audio processing to achieve fuller sound at lower listening levels while keeping listening levels steady (for loud TV commercials for example). This processing was not present in the previous generation TX-SR875.  It also adds the HD Radio that was available only on the top-line TX-SR905 from last year.

cdpage: #onkyo_tx_sr876 I Just came across this link... I thought it was worth mentioning to anyone who likes to use the HDMI Control function in standby mode.

Ronman79: #onkyo_tx_sr876 Well, the 4400ES is essentially the same thing as the 5300ES. Hopefully, the issues will be taken care of. But, I think I'm moving on. The Onkyo does have less HDMI inputs, but....it has great THX features, ISF Video calibration for individual inputs, more power, and better video upscaling with the HQV Reon. I think it's a better deal. Aug 24, 08

HotBBQ: #onkyo_tx_sr876 It looks like this is ~$100 more than the Sony 4400ES. Is the Onkyo a better deal at this price? Aug 22, 08

Ronman79: #onkyo_tx_sr876 I plan to purchase one of these within the next month. I'm waiting on my check from Sony, on a buyback of the STR-DA5300ES. We couldn't seem to get all the kinks worked out, but kudos to Sony's customer support. Aug 14, 08
