Product Shot 2 A feature that this has that the 1021-K does not is Anchor Bay video processing which upconverts lower resolution video to one-wire HDMI 1080p. All of the new VSX line have 3D video capability and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding found in Blu-ray discs and 192kHz/24-Bit Digital Audio Conversion. Also common to the 2011 receivers is Pioneer's MCACC automatic calibration system which employs a microphone jack on the front panel, which when plugged in will calibrate sound playback according to echo reflections based on the location and size of your speakers and room conditions in respect to the listening position. Basically you set up the system and speakers the way you like it and have it adjust settings in an acoustically sound way in accordance with the room. Sound Retriever AIR technology is a system that will 'fill in the blanks' in audio that has been compressed such as MP3 and AAC for a more full and detailed rendering of those files, and you won't have to stay next to the remote at all times when the next track on the playlist is too loud since it will normalize audio levels for you. Bluetooth streaming is also possible with the optional Bluetooth adapter and the unit is Sirius satellite ready.
