Sherwood RX-5502
$300.00
Released May, 2006
The Pros:Setup is simple, only a brief consultation with the manual needed. Easy to work with multiple zones around the house. Reasonable power output, won't usually need an amp unless you have a very big room.
The Cons:Tend to have to push it to the limit to fill a room, not much power left over. Antenna is an unusual connector type, not easily replaced. Antenna that comes with it picks up a lot of interference, can't run a computer near it without lots of static.
The Sherwood RX-5502 is a 4-channel, 400w stereo receiver that can be used as a free-standing unit or as a Zone 2/3 receiver/amplifier.
