The Sony STR-DA5400ES is a top-of-the-line home theater reciever, equipped to handle multiple high-def streams. The system features 7.1 channels of audio at 120 watts each, and is capable of decoding a multitude of digital audio formats, including HD formats: Linear PCM audio, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.

The system also features dual Faroudja DCDi Cinema chips for upscaling of standard definition content to 1080i in up to two rooms. The system features dual Digital Media ports to allow for audio streaming from digital devices such as Ipod, PC, or Sirius Satellite Radio. The STR-DA5400ES has a large number of inputs and outputs, including 6 HDMI inputs and 2 outputs, each allowing 1080 24p/60i playback.
