It is compatible with 24p True Cinema video signals and decodes uncompressed audio including dts® Master Audio, Dolby® TrueHD and LPCM via HDMI™ so users can connect their HD components such as a Blu-ray Disc™ player and PLAYSTATION®3. Equipped with S-AIR™ technology, users can listen to their favorite songs wirelessly throughout their home via the optional S-AIR transmitter and speaker. Users can quickly set up their speakers while optimizing performance with the push of one button in just 30 seconds thanks to Digital Cinema Auto Calibration. This model is also SIRIUS Satellite Radio ready. This piece competes with the 120 watt x 7.1 channel Pioneer VSX-919AH, which happens to also have a iPod USB digital connection and has the same price.
It also has enhanced color range where x.v.Color™ and Deep Color technologies work together to produce ~2x the number of colors while expressing the subtleties within each color for a greater HD expression. The only significant difference between this model and the $100 cheaper Sony STR-DH700 is the deeper color range and the 110 watt/channel vs 105 watt/channel.
