The Yamaha HTR-6030 is a $230 audio/video receiver that offers a lot of powerful features despite its modest price. It offers a powerful 5.1x100watt channel amplifier, Dolby Digital pro logic II, DTS surround sound (which uses a higher data rate than dolby digital, meaning higher quality of sound), and is XM satellite radio ready.

It has 6 additional input jacks for discrete multi-channel input. It has Silent Cinema technology where users can hear surround sound with headphones. It also has compressed music enhancer that improves the quality of compressed music like MP3. This piece comes very similar in price and feature set to the 5.1x110 watt Pioneer VSX-517
