$1,000.00 Released February, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:HD radio tuner. 1080p video upscaling. Burr-Brown DACs and ADCs.

The Cons:Poorly laid out and confusing remote control. Audio only for 2nd zone. Quite a bit more expensive that RX-V663 with only the major difference being the upscaling feature.

The Yamaha RX-V863 (very similar to the Yamaha HTR-6180) is a 7.2 channel a/v receiver supporting video upconversion up to 1080p and HD audio decoding. It has similar specifications to the Yamaha RX-V663 but has 3 HDMI inputs instead of 2, and is a rated for 105 Watts / channel as compared to 95 Watts / channel.
